AGENDA FOR AFSA CHAPTER 1055

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

17 June 2010

    1. Meeting called to order at 1746 hours

    2. Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation & Preamble

    3. Roll call to determine quorum: Members present

Pollard, Szeszko, Manire, McHan, and Williams.

4. Report of Standing Committees:

I. MSgt Meadows Budget and Finance & Treasurers report - approximately $8,500.

II. SSgt Cooper Legislative- information still being sent out by email.

III. MSgt Castro Programs- will not be here - Donation to Action Zone children’s summer program paid. Denotation to the 136 AW family day paid.

IV. MSgt Meadows Communications

    1. Web page – looks good
    2. Newsletter- Need articles at least notify Pollard that you do not have anything for the newsletter.

V. SMSgt (ret.) Claridge Membership- Chapter below the yearly quota, 19 new members, 3 retentions and 77 on the bad information list. Goal to have bad information fixed by 30 Jun 2010. Divided the list for members to find correct address or emails. To find information suggestion to use the 411.com site, the chapter loosed one dollar for every bad address. Membership goal is 52 a year.

VI. SrA McClure & A1C Sims Airman Activity Coordinator – Both will not be here – need secretary to sign the standing rules.

VII. MSgt Manire` Awards- received one application gave to Manire to prepare for the processing.

VIII. Veteran’s Council – need to contact to get on agenda for support a Vet flag project.

VIIII. SMSgt (ret.) McHan Ways & Means- no report

    1. Old Business
      1. Standing Rules 2-13 – Make change to the rule reference AFSA Manual 100-2 principal 6 sections 16 page 32. Basic to give the chapter president the power to remove a chapter trustee. Motion made by McHan and seconded by Manire motion carried. Suggestion to add chair members and appointees to the top of the minutes to make roll call a simple process. Note made that if you are not going to be able to attend the general meeting need to notify the chapter president by email for the record.
      2. Action zone Sponsorship of a 2 Air Force families for 5 weeks- see above notes.

    1. New Business:
      1. Fundraisers, merchandise to sell during membership drives- items available to sell.
      2. Booth to set up @ the 136th Family Day 27 June who can work it? If you can work this event email Pollard time frame 1100- 1600.
      3. Scholarship dead line coming 30 June. In progress.
      4. Audit for FY10- being worked
      5. Graffiti Abatement project set for Sept 18 2010. – need applications filled out and turned in by 15 July 2010. Need to see if the 136 AW PA would cover this event.
      6. Division Conference planning- working hotel issues. Midyear meeting TBA.
      7. PAC Conference August 14-18 in Atlanta- need to know who wants to go or who is going, email Pollard. What is the total cost to send one person?

       

    2. Open Forum:

      Manire set up room for 15 July 2010 meeting, Bldg 1672 1130-1230.

      Look for the date of the AFSA official year to change to the calendar year.

      When will we have officer Training? Pollard will email out information.

      Need to start on the Veterans Day parade.

      Need to look at some new banners or a different float design.

      Prayer requests for Beverly Williams’s dad and our airman families.
